Business Meetings with Jesus

First, we want to make sure that we thank God for all the He did for our business last week.  (Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thess. 5:16-18 CSB)

Second, we are taking time out to be thankful for the lessons and trials that we had in our business.  His Word tells us to, “Consider it great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (James 1:2-3 CSB)

Third, we want to remember that our goal is to be a Kingdom Business.  So we will intentionally plan how to do that in our Business Meeting with Jesus.  (And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. – Colossians 3:17 CSB)

Next is where we take to God the needs that we have for our business.  James tells us, “…you do not have because you do not have. (4:2)”  So that is what we do! Let’s build a habit of taking all our needs to God, big or small.

Finally, I recommend picking a scripture that you can meditate on for your business for the week.  Here are some of my favorites:

  • Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:13-14 ESV
  • But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
  • The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. – Psalm 37:23-24
